Rainbow Paints donates K5 million towards Institute of Marketing conference

Rainbow Paints has donated K5 million to the Institute of Marketing in Malawi (IMM) to support the institute’s annual conference scheduled for next week.

The donation is part of Rainbow Paints’ continued partnership with IMM, with the company saying marketers play a key role in promoting products and building brands in Malawi.

Speaking after the donation, Rainbow Paints Corporate Sales Manager Farouk Jungu said the company believes in giving back and supporting its corporate partners.

He said Rainbow Paints has supported IMM for several years and intends to maintain the relationship.

Jungu said the company is particularly interested in this year’s conference because of its focus on innovation, sustainability and ethics in marketing.

The conference will be held under the theme “Marketing Redefined: Sustainability, Ethics and Innovation.”

Jungu said the theme aligns with Rainbow Paints’ efforts to continuously improve its products and marketing approaches.

He cited the company’s recently introduced Fiber Seal product, which is designed to address leakages without the need for a membrane, as an example of its focus on innovation.

Jungu also said Rainbow Paints is adapting its operations to respond to environmental concerns, noting that the company produces lead-free paint.

He said the company is also focused on producing durable products, with paint warranties ranging from seven to 12 years depending on the product.

Meanwhile, IMM President George Damson thanked Rainbow Paints for its continued support, describing the company as an “all-weather friend” of the institute.

Damson said the conference will address issues that affect not only marketing professionals but ordinary Malawians, particularly how businesses balance profitability with ethical practices, community responsibility, environmental protection and innovation.

He said the conference will provide an opportunity to examine how companies use their profits responsibly and how innovation can be used to make products and services more beneficial to consumers.
