Moyale FC’s struggles at Mzuzu Stadium have continued since their return from Rumphi Stadium, with the team yet to register a home victory in four matches.
The latest setback came on Sunday when they suffered a 1-0 defeat to Silver Strikers in the FDH Bank Premiership.
Innocent Shema scored the decisive goal in the seventh minute with a header from a well-taken free kick.
Moyale pushed for an equaliser in the second half but failed to convert their chances as Silver Strikers held on for a 1-0 victory.
Speaking after the match, Moyale head coach Pritchard Mwansa expressed disappointment with his team’s failure to win at home.
“It is disappointing that we are struggling to get a win here since coming back from Rumphi. We need to change our attitude. We have not won any games here, only draws and a loss. As a coach, I have to do something, and we will work hard to turn things around,” said Mwansa.
Since returning to Mzuzu Stadium, Moyale have drawn 2-2 with Masters FC, 2-2 with Kamuzu Barracks and 1-1 with Mighty Wanderers, before losing 1-0 to Silver Strikers.
Meanwhile, Silver Strikers head coach Patricio Kulemeka expressed satisfaction with the result.
“We needed to win, and that’s what matters,” he said.
Moyale remain 10th in the standings with 21 points, while Silver Strikers occupy fourth position with 32 points. Both teams have played 17 matches.
