Prophet Shepherd Bushiri has called on Malawians to set aside political debates and unite in addressing the country’s pressing challenges. In a statement, the ECG Jesus Nation Church leader said he has noted ongoing social media debates sparked by recent political prophecies concerning him.
Bushiri said that, as a prophet, he approaches political prophecies with caution because they can influence public emotions and create divisions.
He said this is not the time for prophecy-driven debates about who should lead Malawi in the 2030 elections, stressing that the country has more urgent issues to address.
Meanwhile, Bushiri commended President Peter Mutharika and his Cabinet for their efforts to rebuild the economy, restore hope, and find solutions for thousands of Malawians stranded in South Africa.
He said Malawi needs leadership now more than ever, not to deepen divisions but to inspire a shared commitment to a better future.
Bushiri has since appealed to fellow men and women of God to use their voices to build bridges and guide people toward conversations that promote healing and progress.
