His research, titled Innovation Adaptation Framework for Digital Health Systems in Malawi, focuses on improving the adoption and sustainability of digital health technologies to enhance healthcare service delivery and patient outcomes in the country.

During the public defence, Nkoloma said his proposed framework identifies key factors for the successful implementation of digital health systems, including organisational readiness, technological infrastructure, user acceptance, policy support and continuous capacity building.
The examination panel commended the research for its relevance to Malawi’s healthcare sector and national development priorities, saying it offers practical recommendations for strengthening healthcare delivery through digital innovation.
