Mtumbuka urges Catholics to use their talents to serve God

Member of Parliament for Rumphi Central Constituency and UTM presidential running mate in the 2025 General Elections, Hon. Engineer Dr. Matthews Mtumbuka, has encouraged fellow Catholics to identify and use their talents in serving God.

Mtumbuka made the remarks on Sunday at Holy Trinity Parish in Matawale, Zomba Diocese, where he was the guest of honour during the launch of St. Gregory Catholic Choir Mzimu Woyera’s new album.

He said every person in the church has a talent that can be used to serve God, with music being one of the talents through which people can spread the word of God.

“Every person in the church has a talent that can be used to serve God well. One of these talents is music, and we should use it to glorify God,” said Mtumbuka.

Mtumbuka also thanked St. Gregory Catholic Choir for inviting him to the album launch, saying he felt very honoured by the invitation.

“I would like to thank St. Gregory Choir for inviting me to be the guest of honour. The people of Rumphi Central are very honoured by this invitation,” he said.

Meanwhile, Member of Parliament for Zomba City North, Bester Awali, through his personal assistant Joe Pamamera, thanked Mtumbuka for attending the function despite political differences.

Pamamera said Mtumbuka’s decision to attend the event demonstrated his willingness to put political party colours aside and support the community.

“We would like to thank Dr. Matthews Mtumbuka for gracing this occasion and putting party colours aside to attend this function, especially because the invitation came through Honourable Bester Awali,” said Pamamera.

During the event, Mtumbuka bought the newly launched album CD at K1.5 million.
