Rainbow Paints Limited has strengthened its partnership with the golfing fraternity after donating K10 million towards the second edition of the Winter Tour Golf Championship, scheduled for this weekend at Blantyre Sports Club
The sponsorship is aimed at supporting the two-day tournament, which is expected to bring together golfers competing in several categories, including Pro-Am, Championship, A, B, Seniors and Ladies divisions.
Speaking during the symbolic handover ceremony in Blantyre, Rainbow Paints Corporate Sales Manager Farouk Jungu said the company’s decision to support the tournament was driven by the important role golfers have played in sustaining and promoting the Rainbow Paints brand over the years.
Jungu said the company values its relationship with the golfing community, noting that golfers have supported the brand throughout its 30-year journey.
“Golfers have played a vital role in supporting our brand to survive in the past 30 years,” said Jungu.
He said the donation was therefore part of Rainbow Paints’ continued commitment to supporting activities that bring together its customers, partners and the wider community.
Blantyre Sports Club Golf Captain Nchane Nkhwazi has welcomed the sponsorship, describing Rainbow Paints as a key partner in the development of the tournament.
Nkhwazi said the company has supported the competition since its inaugural edition last year, demonstrating its continued commitment to the sport.
“Rainbow Paints has been helping us since our inaugural competition last year,” said Nkhwazi.
The second edition of the Winter Tour Golf Championship will run for two days this coming weekend, with participants expected to battle for honours across the different categories.
The tournament is expected to provide an opportunity for both established and developing golfers to showcase their skills while promoting competitive golf in the country.
