Chief Justice Rizine Robert Mzikamanda has officially relaunched the refurbished Mdinde Magistrate Court in Senior Chief Katuli’s area in Mangochi, restoring judicial services after the facility was closed in March 2023 over structural safety concerns.

Speaking during the relaunch, Mzikamanda said the reopening is part of the Judiciary’s nationwide programme to rehabilitate court infrastructure and improve access to justice.

He noted that the court’s return will ease the burden on residents who have been travelling long distances to Namwera Magistrate Court and Mangochi District Court to access judicial services.

The Chief Justice also urged judicial officers, court staff and the public to protect the facility and ensure it provides professional, efficient and corruption-free services to all.
