FCB Nyasa Big Bullets have confirmed the signing of Liberian playmaker Sheriff Sheku, adding fresh creativity to their midfield ranks.
The club made the announcement on Tuesday through an official interview, revealing that the attacking midfielder has signed a two-year contract with the Malawian giants.
Speaking after completing the move, Sheriff said he was delighted to join the club and ready to make an impact.
“It feels great to join Bullets. This is a big step in my career and an opportunity to showcase my talent outside Liberia, so I’m happy to be here,” he said.
“As an attacking midfielder, I believe I have qualities that can add something different to the team, including my creativity and my ability from free-kicks. I’m joining a club with a very good squad, so I’m prepared to work hard in training and compete for my opportunity.
“I hope to achieve a lot with Bullets. I promise to give my 100 percent whenever I represent Bullets.”
Big Bullets head coach Wedson Nyirenda explained what prompted the club to move for the Liberian international, saying he fills a specific gap in the squad.
“We have been looking for an attacking midfielder who can also operate further forward, someone with an eye for a decisive pass and a strong instinct for goal. Sheriff possesses those qualities,” Nyirenda said.
“We have very good midfielders, but we wanted to add a player capable of arriving from deeper areas to create opportunities and threaten the goal. Greater competition will give us more balance across the team.”
Nyirenda also praised the new signing’s technical qualities and character, expressing confidence that he will settle in quickly at the club.
“Sheriff handles the ball well and uses spaces intelligently. He also has good character, leadership qualities and a strong mentality. We believe he will add value to the team, and we look forward to seeing him bring those qualities onto the pitch.”
Sheriff joins Big Bullets after establishing himself as one of Liberia’s most consistent midfield performers, having represented the Lone Star national team and previously turned out for LISCR FC in the Liberian top flight.
