FRD names Zeze Kingstone ambassador for Resource Mobilization Raffle 2026

The Foundation for Rural Development (FRD) has appointed celebrated musician Zeze Kingstone as ambassador for its Resource Mobilization Raffle 2026, a move the organisation says will help it reach a wider audience and strengthen support for rural communities across Malawi.

FRD Country Director Grace Kusani said Kingstone’s appointment was a strategic choice, noting that his huge following would help the foundation reach more people. She added that the partnership aligns with FRD’s broader social responsibility agenda.

“His platform gives us an opportunity to connect with a wider audience,” Kusani said, adding that the collaboration would boost the visibility of the organisation’s ongoing work in vulnerable communities.

Speaking after his appointment, Kingstone said he was happy to be part of the initiative and pledged to use his influence to encourage people to participate in the raffle and support rural development efforts.

The Resource Mobilization Raffle was officially launched on 24 September 2026 in Lilongwe. According to FRD, the initiative is designed to increase the organisation’s capacity and reach as it continues serving vulnerable communities, a role it has undertaken for nearly two years.

The raffle, which is primarily targeted at Malawian youths, offers participants a chance to win seven iPhone 17 Pro Max devices and 10 air tickets to Johannesburg, South Africa.

The draws will be conducted in three phases, with the first scheduled for October, the second for November and the grand finale set for December this year.
