Government to continue development projects initiated by previous administration

Second Vice President Enock Chihana says government will continue and complete development projects initiated by the previous administration, stressing that the projects belong to Malawians.

Chihana was speaking during the 40th General Assembly of the CCAP Livingstonia Synod in Kasungu, where he emphasised the importance of continuity in national development regardless of changes in government.

He said development projects initiated by previous administrations should not be abandoned because they are intended to benefit Malawians and, therefore, belong to the people.

Chihana also emphasised on the need for stronger collaboration between government and the church on development and other issues of national interest.

He said government recognises the significant role the church plays in areas such as education, health, social welfare and community development, and called for continued cooperation between the two institutions.

The Second Vice President said government and the church have a shared responsibility to contribute to national development and improve the welfare of Malawians.
