High Court Judge Ruth Chinangwa has resumed hearing the murder trial of seven men accused of killing medical doctor Dr Victoria Bobe in Blantyre.
The State is expected to continue leading evidence from its third witness, Assistant Superintendent Christopher Pangeti, a police detective who has been testifying on the investigation into the case.
On Friday last week, defence lawyers concluded their cross-examination of Pangeti after the court heard evidence, including a crime reconstruction video presented by the prosecution.
All seven accused, Charles Chikapa, Maxwell Elia, Rafic Abdul Hassan, Issa Allie, Peter Mphepo, Santos Chamaba and Peter Chimenya, are present in court.
They have all pleaded not guilty to charges of murder, robbery and burglary.
Dr Bobe, a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital and a lecturer at Kamuzu University of Health Sciences, was shot dead during an armed robbery at her home in Chigumula, Blantyre, in November 2025.
Her killing sparked widespread calls for justice from the medical fraternity and the public.
