Malawi’s Ireen Navicha showcases culture at Miss World Dances of the World

Malawi’s representative at Miss World 2026, Ireen Navicha, has showcased the country’s cultural heritage on the international stage during the Dances of the World event in Nha Trang, Vietnam.

Navicha joined 110 other contestants at the cultural showcase on September 2, where participants used traditional costumes, music and dance to celebrate the identities of their respective countries.

Representing Malawi, Navicha captivated the audience as she appeared in national attire and performed to rhythms from home, giving the international audience a glimpse of Malawi’s rich cultural heritage.

The event, held as part of the Miss World 75th Anniversary celebrations, brought together contestants from different parts of the world for a colourful celebration of cultural diversity.

Navicha’s appearance comes as she continues her campaign at the 2026 Miss World competition, where she is also promoting her “When a Mother Is a Child” initiative, which supports girls who have dropped out of school because of teenage pregnancy and early marriage.

The community advocate, model and student is using the Miss World platform to highlight issues affecting young people while representing Malawi in the global competition.

The Miss World 2026 final is scheduled for September 5 in Vietnam, with Navicha among the contestants still seeking a place in the final stages of the competition.

Malawians can also support Navicha through the official Miss World voting platform as she continues her campaign.
