Vice President Jane Ansah appointed to G100 Presidential Advisory Council

Malawi Vice President Dr Jane Mayemu Ansah has been appointed to the G100 Presidential Advisory Council, a global body of influential women leaders that promotes women’s leadership, gender equality and international collaboration.

The appointment, announced this week on the G100 official website, places Dr Ansah among distinguished global leaders serving on the Council, which advises the G100 Global President on advancing women’s empowerment, governance and cooperation across governments, institutions and civil society.

The development is expected to further raise Malawi’s profile on the international stage through Dr Ansah’s participation in global policy and leadership discussions.

Dr Ansah, Malawi’s second female Vice President, assumed office following the Democratic Progressive Party’s victory in the September 16, 2025 General Elections.

Before becoming Vice President, she built an extensive career in the legal profession and public service.

A retired Justice of Appeal and Senior Counsel, she has served as Attorney General, Justice of the Supreme Court of Appeal, Chairperson of the Malawi Electoral Commission and President of the Electoral Commissions Forum of SADC.

She holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Malawi, a Master of Laws in International Human Rights and a PhD in International Human Rights from the University of Nottingham in the United Kingdom.

Dr Ansah is also an author on constitutional law, human rights and legal development, and serves as National Overseer of Christ Citadel International Church.

The G100 is an international network of women leaders from more than 100 countries working to promote leadership, innovation, governance and gender equality.

Its Presidential Advisory Council comprises heads of state, first ladies, ministers, diplomats, business executives and other globally recognised leaders.
